Topical Product Treatment Updates

You asked, we listened. Check out our newest treatment, Prescription Strength Skin Care Products and our newly updated Medical Grade Skin Care Products treatment plan below. These changes are now live!

What’s Changing

We are defining and standardizing what qualifies as a Medical Grade Skincare Product and clarifying how these products differ from Prescription Strength (Rx) Skincare products.

Establishing Key Distinctions:

Prescription Strength (Rx)

  • Requires a licensed provider prescription

  • Examples may include prescription retinoids, hydroquinone, or topical antibiotics

Medical Grade (Provider-Dispensed)

  • Typically sold through medical practices or licensed providers

  • Does not require a prescription

Medical Grade Skin Care Products: Patient is approved to proceed with the use of Medical Grade Skincare Products, as clinically indicated. Product selection and regimen may include, but are not limited to, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, retinoid, alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), niacinamide, cleansers, antioxidants, exfoliants, pigment-correcting agents, and moisturizers, as clinically indicated.

Medical grade skin care refers to non-prescription products formulated with higher concentrations of clinically tested active ingredients intended to address specific skin concerns such as aging, acne, and hyperpigmentation.

This clearance applies to non-prescription, provider-dispensed skincare products only. Product selection and continued use remain subject to provider discretion based on patient response, tolerance, and any changes in medical history or contraindications. Follow-up and regimen adjustments should be performed as clinically indicated. All products must be used in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and the clinical protocols established by the clinic’s Medical Director.

This Good Faith Exam (GFE) is valid for twelve (12) months from the date of examination, unless changes in the patient’s medical status warrant re-evaluation.
